Public Speaking Course:They Don't Know Where Your GoingMike McKinley, past president of the National Speakers Association, always says, 'Do not worry about minor mistakes you make when you are presenting. The audience does not know what you are supposed to be saying.' This is an important lesson to learn in your public speaking course. It will make little difference if you forget to mention something as long as you have planned with good material throughout your entire presentation. It will however make a HUGE difference if you get so upset because you left something out that you start a domino effect of additional mistakes and blunders. Using what you learned from your public speaking course involves rolling with the punches, adapting and adjusting, always attentive to your audience needs.
